Job Description: Souls to the Polls Wisconsin is hiring a Director of Free Rides to the Polls (FRttP) to lead our year-round transportation-to-the-polls program—an effort that ensures every eligible Wisconsin voter, especially in Black and Brown communities, can cast their ballot during early voting and on Election Day.
This role is more than managing rides. It's about inspiring volunteer power, expanding civic engagement, and coordinating logistics that directly increase voter turnout. The ideal candidate is an experienced organizer, savvy with tech, and a compassionate leader who thrives under pressure.
About the Organization: Souls to the Polls Wisconsin is a 501c(3) non-partisan and non-profit voter education and advocacy organization based in Milwaukee, WI. Souls to the Polls’ philosophy is rooted in the idea that voting is our collective power—a tool we can use to build stronger, safer, and more supported communities. Souls to the Polls was founded in 2013 and since then, has united Milwaukee faith leaders and their congregations—with recent expansion to other cities in Wisconsin—to strengthen the voting power of the Black community.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Engage and grow a robust volunteer network of drivers, dispatchers, and outreach callers.

Train and support volunteers year-round using tools like TaxiCaller, Telzio, and virtual applications.

Coordinate rides-to-the-polls operations for early voting and Election Day.

Lead civic engagement efforts between elections—registration drives, absentee support, and community outreach.

Track and report metrics while ensuring legal compliance.

This role would be great for you if you have…

3+ years of experience in community organizing, volunteer coordination, program management or transportation dispatch.

Tech-comfortable and quick to learn new systems.

Strong communication, planning, and people skills.

Commitment to voting rights and equity.

Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
Preferred: -
Wisconsin-based or knowledgeable about Milwaukee’s geography and voting systems.

Experience with older adults, voters with disabilities, or faith-based networks.

Bilingual (Spanish preferred, not required).
Compensation and Benefits:

Up to $30/hour + mileage reimbursement, depending on experience

Contract position: Full-time during election season, 20–30 hrs/week between elections.

Remote with in-state travel as needed.
